  • Condition: Wonderful original 1783 State of Connecticut Pay Table office document paid to "Norwalk Selectman" Six Pounds Lawful Money which was for wages and reimbursement for expenses or loss due to damages during the American Revolutionary war. Norwalk was particularly hit hard and suffered great losses in 1779 when English Major General William Tryon invaded the State and destroyed all the homes and buildings in Norwalk except for six houses.     HEZEKIAH ROGERS
    (An aid de camp to General Jedidiah Huntington who was also a committee member) and
    ELEAZER WALES
    who was a Graduate of Yale and Presbyterian Minister who also later served as Justice of the Peace in Hartford Connecticut.  Dated April 21,1794, Signed on the back by E. Knapp a family member of one the original family's who founded the Southern part of the Colony of Connecticut in the early 1600s.
